Choosing the right Camp session can be a challenge to navigate. We have several types of camp sessions at Camp Friendship, Camp Courage, and Camp Eden Wood that serve all types of individuals with disabilities. Brain Gains
Brain Gains is designed for adults with mild to moderate brain injuries. Have fun while attending groups led by skilled therapists from Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute. Work on memory, time management, problem solving strategies, coping and social skills. Campers also enjoy traditional camp and outdoor activities while increasing social and cognitive capacity.
CAMP C.A.M.P (Connecting Among Multiple People)
Camp C.A.M.P (Connecting Among Multiple People) is a structured program at Camp Friendship for individuals with higher functioning autism spectrum disorder and focuses on social skill learning and development. Participants practice asking to join activities, trying something new, sharing, and taking turns while participating in traditional camp activities. Participants build confidence in activities and social interactions among other campers with similar experiences.
Classic Camp
Enjoy outdoor and lakefront activities, hikes, campfires, and cabin living. Meet new people and make friends with other participants and counselors while experiencing the best nature has to offer. Trained staff members provide personal care and assistance as needed.
Adult Retreat
Adult Retreat is designed for adults with mild to moderate brain injuries. Have fun while attending groups led by skilled therapists from Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute. Work on memory, time management, problem solving strategies, coping and social skills. Campers also enjoy traditional camp and outdoor activities while increasing social and cognitive capacity.
Youth Retreat
This camp experience is perfect for youth who are looking to have a more independent camp experience. Participants may customize their vacation by choosing activities that challenge and interest them. Explore aquatic activities, ropes course and zip-line, and other traditional camp activities with some freedom to move from area to area.
Adult Retreat
This camp experience at Camp Courage is perfect for individuals who enjoy rekindling old friendships and creating new ones. This is a retreat-style program so campers get to enjoy a vacation with their friends. Developed for campers with physical disabilities, this program provides many accessible activities including miles of trails to explore, a state-of-the-art wheelchair accessible challenge ropes course and zip-line, kayaking, tubing, fishing, archery, and so much more! *The new Camp Cambria Recreation Center is being constructed and may impact trails or parking during construction
Brain Gains
This session is especially designed for adults with traumatic or acquired brain injuries (injury, stroke, illness/ tumor). Have fun at camp while attending a daily group led by skilled therapists from Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute. You will participate in a 2-hour daily curriculum in a supportive group environment. Topics are specific to maximizing activities, engagement, communication, and growth following brain injury. Campers will also enjoy traditional camp, craft, and outdoor activities as part of the larger camp group. SESSION NAME HIGH SESSION TYPE AGES Adult Retreat 1:1 MED

Day Camp
Camp Eden Wood Day Camp is the perfect introduction to the camp experience and for those who prefer to go back home overnight. This can be a good program for first timers who may be able to attend the program on multiple occasions during the summer. It can then be a good steppingstone for those interested in exploring the overnight programs in a future year. Campers in the day camp program will have the opportunity to participate in Day Trips, each week into the surrounding community. Examples might include visiting Bryant Lake up the road to Let’s Go Fishing on Lake Riley, and the Crayola Experience at MOA to the State Capitol. Our amazing staff will support our campers and participate alongside them to ensure their safety while on our off-site adventures. Check-in is from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. and check-out is from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. daily. Lunch is provided.
