Program Update: All Ventures Travel trips are temporarily suspended.

Due to the current status of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily suspend the True Friends travel program, Ventures Travel.

We feel it is in the best interest of our travelers, their families, staff, and volunteers to suspend services until further notice.

At this time all trips have been postponed or cancelled due to the impact of COVID-19 on the entire travel industry.

The Ventures Travel July – December 2020 brochure will be delayed as we evaluate our options and opportunities for the future.

If you need to cancel your trip you may:

– Transfer any payments to a future trip or True Friends program or;
– Request a refund by calling 952.852.0132 or email
– Convert any deposit to a tax-deductible donation by calling 952.852.0128 or email

We will continue to provide program updates when we are able.

Make an Impact

When you volunteer with True Friends, you help ensure everyone has a positive experience.

Working with Individuals with Disabilities

Your LanguageRespect of participants is our number one priority. Remember to use person first language by using the person’s name over their disability. For example, “John has autism” rather than “John’s autistic.
Conversation startersMaking a connection is important to everyone. Our participants have hobbies, families, jobs, and school outside of our programs. Start with something that you can relate to and let the conversation flow. Get to know the individuals you work with.
Trained StaffOur volunteers are never left alone with a participant, do not perform personal cares, and are not responsible for behavior management. It’s okay to ask staff for guidance and support.
